Our Town
Declared in 1993 ‘Historical Artistic Set’, La Puebla is located in Orbaneja del Castillo, a town in the north of Burgos.
Because of its elevated position, we enjoy a magnificent view over the Ebro Canyon, as well as the sinuous course of the river, and the nice mosaic that make up the roofs of the town.
A step from our door awaits us, on the one hand, we have an exuberant nature and, on the other, one of the best preserved and most picturesque sets of the natural environment of the Hoces del Alto Ebro and Rudrón.
Orbaneja del Castillo is a steep city, and that makes it a difficult place for cars and a disadvantage for people with mobility problems.
The urban area, formed by a network of narrow streets of medieval air, with the charm of popular architecture, is molded to the steep orography of the hillside where Orbaneja lies.
In Cueva del Agua the stream that divides the town in its two neighborhoods is born: La Villa and La Puebla, from where we have taken our name.
This stream flows peacefully through the town and becomes a stunning waterfall shortly before joining its waters to the Ebro.
Remember: Orbaneja del Castillo is located on a slope which makes all its network of streets is narrow and uphill, making it a difficult place for cars and a handicap for people with mobility problems.
In addition, Orbaneja del Castillo is a small town of about 40 inhabitants, and therefore there are no basic services such as cashier, health center or supermarket. Except on weekends and high season, there is hardly an influx of people, which implies a not very wide leisury supply.
